APROL web server
With the APROL web server from B&R, it is possible to operate and monitor systems via an intranet or the Internet without any limitations. This allows flexible and location-independent control and monitoring of processes.
Simultaneous access without affecting local interaction
The APROL web server uses the mechanisms of VNC under Linux and thus makes the project data available worldwide via an intranet or the Internet for any number of web clients simultaneously. Unlike Windows operating systems, web client access under Linux does not remotely control local resources (keyboard and mouse) or transfer a copy of the graphic display to the web client.
Web clients via a standard web browser (Java viewer)
The APROL web server is accessed via web clients equipped with Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer or other web browsers using a Java viewer.
Operating and monitoring or diagnostics
In addition to operating and monitoring APROL systems via the web (operator station via web), remote access for diagnostics (diagnostic access via web) is also possible.
Licensing "Operator station via web"
For the "Operator station via web" use case, licensing is required using the "Operator via net" licenses for simultaneous access by 1, 5 or 10 web clients. If more than 10 licenses are required, the desired number can be purchased in packages of 1, 5 or 10 licenses.
No licensing required for "Diagnostics via web"
Access to the APROL control computer (also a single node system) via the web is possible at any time. No licenses are required for this.
No configuration effort for web access
The web clients access the APROL web server via an intranet or the Internet using VNC clients or web browsers (Java). All APROL system functions including security login are available in identical form. The system can thus be operated and monitored in the same way as with local access.
AuditTrail records all operating procedures via the web
The operations carried out on the web client are fully recorded in the AuditTrail. User management ensures a high level of security when accessing the APROL web server.
Separate X session for each web client access
The X Window System (X11) is a protocol for the graphical user interface. In addition to the display and use of windows on the screen, the handling of user input via mouse and keyboard is also part of X11. The X Display Manager is a part of the X Window System for the graphical user interface under Linux and is responsible for showing the user a graphical login screen where username and password can be entered. After successful login, a separate X session is automatically started for each web client access.
APROL operator station via web
1, 5, 10 or 25 web clients access the data of an APROL web server via an intranet or the Internet.
Diagnostic access via the web
One or more web clients have access to several APROL web servers (also a single node system) for remote control, diagnostics or monitoring purposes.
